Plant Concierge Service
All plant material leaving Victoria into NSW, ACT & SA is now subject to strict biosecurity regulations, and is only able to be sent interstate by an accredited business authorised to issue a Plant Health Assurance Certificate (PHAC). Any plant material sent without a PHAC risks seizure, destruction and fines for the sender and/or receiver.
Whilst this does create a barrier to the easy exchange of plants between collectors, it doesn’t stop it completely:
Plants may still be SENTTO Victoria without issue from all states other than WA (plants from WA require a PHAC)
Plants LEAVING Victoria need to be sent via a Concierge service from an accredited business. HABIT offers this service to collectors ordering from private Victorian sellers, or to other Victorian plant businesses sending plants interstate.
Each state has it’s own biosecurity regulations for complying with entry conditions, which affects the cost of processing. Our prices are in line with the industry standard:
NSW, ACT, SA: $25 per plant (please note that this may be higher for large plants, we will confirm prior to entering into an agreement), plus outgoing shipping (cost dictated by Australia Post). This covers inspection, treatment, exclusion packaging, paperwork submission to the receiving state’s biosecurity regulator, and consignment PHAC, in line with PS-59 requirements.
QLD: now exempt.
OTHER STATES: we are not accredited to send to WA/TAS/NT, but we can forward your plants to a Quarantine State Concierge Service following the above guidelines (this must be done for all plants, even if travelling via a secondary concierge provider). The cost will be applied as per above fees, depending on the location of your concierge, and does not include their fees, which are charged separately. We do not complete the relevant paperwork required by your nominated Quarantine State Concierge (such as Uprooted Plants) - this must be organised by you. Please contact us if you require further information.
