Philodendron callosum ssp. ptarianum
Philodendron callosum ssp. ptarianum is a seriously underrated climber which differs it from the true species. Producing thick, paddle shaped leaves with an almost unreal cardboard like, coriaceous texture. The surface of each leaf is heavily textured, with fine ridges and undulations that give every leaf its own distinctive fingerprint.
Given something to climb, it develops increasingly impressive foliage and a beautifully structured growth habit as it matures (as can be seen in the final image NFS). Rare, tactile and undeniably strange, this is the kind of plant that looks even better in person than it does in photographs.
Please note that you may not receive the exact plant shown in the photo, but you will receive one of similar sizing. Also, we do not recommend repotting for the first six months or until the plant has completely outgrown its pot. Our media blends are specifically formulated to allow your plant to thrive in its current pot.
