A very close relative of H. magnifica and H. albiflora this species trumps them both in the pubescent department. H. calycina has fuzz everywhere, peduncles and all. Blooms are large and waxy displaying a white cupped star shape corolla that has a divine purple centre adorned with a white corona. Not sold very often however, this species grows well indoors.
