Our very own custom-blend Begonia potting mix. Light enough to not inhibit the growth of fine begonia roots, yet dense enough to retain nutrients and moisture without remaining too wet. With a high cation exchange capacity (CEC), our blend has the capability to hold nutrients delivered during watering and then release them as required by your plants. By far, the best blend for begonias and terrium plants we’ve found, suitable for propagations as well as repotting mature plants.

INGREDIENTS:

Fine grade milled and buffered coco pith

Mineraland Japanese Kanuma (5.5pH)

Mineraland Japanese Gritty Mix (diatomaceous earth, pumice, green zeolite, scoria, maifan stone and vermiculite)

Heat sterilised worm castings

Bug Killa slow release Imidacloprid

PRECAUTIONS:

Gloves are recommended when using potting mix. If you do not wear gloves, please ensure that you have no cuts in your skin and that you wash your hands thoroughly after use.

If you are growing limestone Begonias, you are able to add a small amount of dolomite to the mix or as a top dressing on pots.

Worm castings within the blend will provide a small amount of nutrition to your plants, however, we recommend using a half-strength complete liquid fertiliser all year round.

Imidacloprid is a systemic pesticide. It will take approximately 2 weeks to work its way into your plant to protect the plant from many pests, but particularly root mealy bugs. Protection lasts for 2 months. Please ensure that when watering, any run-off does not enter the sewer system, as Imidacloprid can be harmful to the microscopic bacteria within our waterways. Please use a closed watering system and dispose of run-off responsibly.
